What an amazing story. Watney is funny and witty and has a ferocious will to survive. From page one, you are rooting him on. He details out every struggle and every plan. He gives you the highs and lows and everything in between.

Whoa. I tried not to buy into the hype about this book. In fact, I wasn't going to read it at all (until I was sucked into the space genre while playing Alien: Isolation), but that's a different story. Suffice to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Loved this book. I wasn't expecting it to be so funny. I flew through reading it. Only complaint was not getting enough emotional wrap up at the end, and the pacing for the very end of the book started to slow down for me. That may just have been because I'm tired though.

Such a nerdy book! I guess that's necessary though when you're just this one lonely guy trapped on Mars. Non-nerds would probably not survive. So kudos to nerds!
I was surprised that a story which seemed to center on just one single protagonist was so compelling. The science, although I didn't get like 99.9% of it, was immensely intriguing and explained in such a way that you didn't have to totally understand it because you can catch his drift.
