"I'm the first person to be alone on an entire planet."

What an amazing story. Watney is funny and witty and has a ferocious will to survive. From page one, you are rooting him on. He details out every struggle and every plan. He gives you the highs and lows and everything in between.

Whoa. I tried not to buy into the hype about this book. In fact, I wasn't going to read it at all (until I was sucked into the space genre while playing Alien: Isolation), but that's a different story. Suffice to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this.

The science, although I didn't get like 99.9% of it, was immensely intriguing and explained in such a way that you didn't have to totally understand it because you can catch his drift. Even though a lot of the parts of the plot seemed l
