I fell hard for this book the first time I read it and its sisters, confirming in my mind just how much I love Mira Grant -- or rather, Seannan McGuire. But at the time, this was my first taste of the author.

I was first made aware of this book when it was nominated for the Hugo award several years ago. I was filled with happiness that a zombie novel had received a nomination. I read through the reviews and found that many people were frustrated by the lack of zombie action.

It took me a couple of chapters to get into this and I honestly considered giving up at the beginning. I think it was me being annoyed at what I perceived as the know it all attitude of these youngsters who are suddenly superstars in their own world. Once I got into it though it was gripping and intelligent.

Smart, intelligent zombie fiction that isn't just your average zombie novel. This one packs a wallop! When I picked Feed up, I thought, "Do I really want to read another zombie book?" Yes, it turns out I did want to read another zombie book! Mira Grant brings something fresh and different to the zombie table.
