The “Eye of the World” is a fantasy novel written by Robert Jordan and is the first book of 14 in Jordan’s Wheel of Time Series. Initially I was planning on doing a review of the series as a whole instead of a stand-alone, but I really wanted to get this one out there and discuss it a little. I am currently working my way through the series and I probably won’t do a review of each individual book, or I might I really don’t know I’ll probably just decide that as I go through them so we’ll see.

Deciding to put this on hold. I'm just not really feeling in the mood for it right now. I'll definitely be coming back to it but not until closer to when the TV series airs.

This is an amazing start to what seems like an amazing fantasy epic. The characters are rich and the struggle against evil feels real. Rand and Egwene have a great relationship and their tension is played out superbly. Power displays aren't overused and build the suspense of the novel quite well.
