I read everything MVS publishes and this novel was a thematic departure from her regular fare. It was more science-fiction than her regular fantasy genre. I don't think it matters at all what genre the woman writes within because she continual delivers excellent stories.
I devoured this novel in one day because I could not put it down. It was quick paced, incredibly imaginative and exciting. The second half of the book just rushes with action.

Maria V. Snyder always strikes gold...it's a no brainer anymore to be honest. I'm not sure why I waited so long to dive into this one, but regardless it was well worth the wait. I'm already of course anxious to get to the store so I can pick up the second installment and see what is in store for Trella and the rest of Snyder's characters next.

Snyder writes a fantastic distopian vision of a future life. Inside OUT was terrifying and claustrophobic. Snyder has a tendency to write strong female characters with seemingly endless amounts of stamina, and Trella falls into this role nicely. Snyder is such a versitile author transitioning from Fantasy to Science Fiction. Inside Out is a incredible book for all to read- especially young adults!
It took a bit of concentration to get into the book, but after that I really enjoyed it. I liked the main character Trella, looking forward to the next one.
