An overnight read. I was so thrilled when I got my hands on this book. I read right through dinner, second dinner, and midnight snack. And was extremely annoyed when I needed to use the potty.
I love this world! Maria V. Snyder commands your attention. Poison Study fans are really going to like this one. Just like with the poisons, we learn about storms and glass with the same meticulous (and entertaining) attention to detail. Can't wait for the next! ...more

Loved the book! Definitely lives up to the Study Series. I wasn't sure how the book would play out but it has wonderful character development with Opal. She has her own demons, her own weaknesses, her own strengths and her own learning experiences. The new characters offer a great read.

I knew it was going to be good, I just didn't know it would be soooo good! It has everything I loved about Poison Study, action, adventure, fantasy, a bit of romance and great characters. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

This was such a wonderful book! I really related to Opal and the love interests were fun. :) The plot was original and kept me reading through the night. I was pleasantly surprised by who the villains turned out to be and the few scenes with our old pals from the Study Series. The places Opal go to are incredible and I now have a new favorite clan. :) Fantastic book! Also- I now want to learn how to make glass!

Even with the audiobook I really couldn't push myself to finish this one. I can't remember when I started but I'm really not motivated to continue it. Will try to come back to it later. Er, eventually.

This didn't really feel like it had an ending. I guess because it's a series the author didn't really 'end' it, it just kind of drifted to to close.
Good story though, on to the next. ...more

I wasn't sure if I would like this book as much as the Study books, but I did, and I couldn't help but fall in love with Opal as she learns to love and appreciate herself.

One of the best I've read this year. Can't wait to read Sea Glass, which I understand just came out. Yay!
