I don't know how I haven't come across this Australian writer before as I was pleasantly surprised by this book.
It is definite chick lit, but IMO way above the frilly stuff I sort of associate with this genre (but perhaps that is unfair to the genre, I don't know).

A friend recommended this as something she read for her book club that everyone loved and gave them lots to talk about. I found this all to be true. This book had me crying and laughing at the same time. The crying was from identifying so closely with a poignant moment and the author's timing was perfect in providing an equally great laugh close behind. Lots of truth here. I will remember this book and these characters for a long time.

This book was so much fun to read. I loved the concept, as well as the way it unraveled slowly. I wanted to get to the end to know everything, but I didn't want it to end! It made me laugh right out loud a lot, but also made me well up with tears more than once. It was believably done, and I think it did a good job of being insightful of the way people feel. It was a light read for sure, but a fun light read. Fantastic book to take on a relaxing holiday.
