This is my favorite book by Agatha Christie so I've read it several times. This is my time listening to the audio so I'll start my review with my thoughts on the narration.
Robin Bailey did a good job with the narration except for Poirot's voice which was just average: the voice was deeper and his French accent wasn't as heavy as I've seen it portrayed by others. A few times where Poirot was speaking, I couldn't tell it was him. The rest of the characters however, were really well done.

I'm an avid Agatha Christie fan so (sadly) I figure out the murderer by the middle of the book. Not in this case. I was amazed, flabbergasted...the ending of this book was just perfect and a treat for those of us who love detective stories.

The classic murder mystery was a really fun read. It was my first Christie novel featuring Hercule Poirot and I will definitely add more to my TBR pile. The novel is told from the point of view of a small town doctor that discovered the body of one of the richest men in town. As with most good mystery novels, nothing is what it seems and everyone has a secret. Poirot is an entertaining detective and the clues that reveal the mystery are in the text for the reader to find, although they probably

It's hard to believe this was published in 1926. It was surprisingly funny and the writing is pretty amazing. I actually went on about how stunned I was by the ending for two days. After reading this I've become convinced Agatha Christie deserves her legendary status, but I wasn't always a fan.

Really enjoyed listening to this one. I've never read much Agatha Christie, but I quite enjoyed the way the case was put together and the novel's structure. I'd definitely recommend this one. The less you know about the book and the plot going in, the better the experience of reading it will be. Thus, I won't say anything else other than that the reader did a nice job and the book was well worth the time spent.

I envy people their first reading of this, that's really when it packs the most punch. Imagine not knowing how unreliable this narrator is. I loved the surprise that very first time. Not that there is nothing to enjoy in subsequent readings. This is comfort food for me now, & I always enjoy Christie's clever writing & dear Poirot. When I have a bad reading slump Christie is often the only thing I can read. Thankyou also to David Suchet for giving me the perfect image of this precise little man,

It is hard to read these classic mystery stories this day and age, because so many of the genre's key tropes have become stereotypes. This was still an enjoyable mystery and you can tell why Agatha Christie became a classic. Overall the entire premise reads a bit "dinner mystery theater" these days, but it was still an enjoyable mystery with fun characters.
