Once again Stiefvater uses descriptive and flowing prose to create an imaginative and engrossing story as we follow Grace and Sam's relationship as they try and cope with the pack now Beck has changed for good and with the new wolves he created before he went. The addition of new and more brooding characters adds a little more depth to the story and stops the relationship between Sam and Grace taking over completely. However, I once again felt that this relationship went along the typical lines

Ok, so I thought and thought about this, and it comes down to this. This book didn't draw me in the way Shiver. I really felt like there was something missing. I didn't feel as connected to Sam and Grace and maybe that's because there was Cole and Isabel in the middle of each freaking scene with Grace and Sam.
The whole book seemed disjointed and I didn't feel like it went anywhere until right at the end and then it ended.

Cover: Like the Shiver cover, the Linger cover was so pretty. For me, the greens symbolized the warmth and life of the spring season and when the wolves shed their furry pelts for a less hairy appearance.
Characters: Sam and Grace are still crazy about each other. Sam's insecurities seem to be exposed a bit more in this book. I was surprised at how friendly Isabel and Grace became. Cole was a nice addition to the story. His growth throughout the story was touching.

I am pleasantly surprised by how into this book I got. I have read very little of this genre so it is all relatively fresh to me, which I think helps. This book was alot darker than Shiver which I totally enjoyed. Sure it has some of that cliched teenage love relationship stuff, but it is really lovely how the author intertwines some deeper meaning with the use of poetry and song lyric. It was nice to have some more characters involved, I particularly liked the addition of Cole. I will definitel

Linger (written in green ink this time) Shiver was blue ink... Next red ? purple ? NEXT book is key here. This Wolves Mercy Falls series sucks you into reading the next one. I don't want to be a spoiler, but trust me the series CAN'T end here. I enjoy the authors strong writing style and her depiction of teen emotions, about; young love, friendships and parents.

About the same as the first. I read of someone calling Sam "emo", and I think I'd agree with that. I'm not a huge fan of 'emo' personalities as main male love interests. But overall it held my interest throughout.

I absolutely love this series. I can't wait to read the next book.
