Not my favorite Christie. The murder plot seemed overly convoluted and I kept zoning out on the narration. I've liked other Christies narrated by Hugh Fraser so I think it was the plot I was zoning out on. Anyway, as others have said if you're interested in Christie but haven't read anything yet, don't start here. But it's notable for being the book where Captain Hastings meets his wife, that part was fun.

This got really annoying after the 728373th red herring. Also, I need a break from Hastings. I never liked him (as a character or narrator or human), but everything he says and does gets on my nerves. He serves no purpose to the story and is just a dumbass. Every thought he has is moronic, unoriginal and 99% of the time, wrong. If the next book on the Poirot list features Hastings, it's getting skipped.
