Here we have a definite argument for giving an author a second chance. My previous experience of Dean Koontz had been The Taking, which I loathed utterly. I found it annoyingly written, badly conceived and preachy. However, I had heard it wasn't typical of his work (my girlfriend is a fan, although she hasn't read The Taking), and when I was given the audio of Odd Thomas I thought I'd give it a go.

Odd (who has heard various reasons for this given name, none of which are quite convincing), is a s

I went into this book not knowing anything at all about the story. There was a period in the '90s and early 2000s when I would buy any book that Dean Koontz (or Leigh Nichols or Brian Coffey, etc) wrote regardless of the storyline. This is my first book by Dean Kppntz. I always look at his books but I never pick it up and read it.

However, I have always wanted to read this seriers, and finnally I am doing so.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a light read.
What I do not understand is why is this book shelved in the stores under the "horror" section. It is not horror, paranormal yes, but horror no.

I really enjoyed the book, it is fast paced and there are quite few suprises. i would recomand this to anyone.

This is a thrilling and suspenseful book with every turn of the page. Odd Thomas is an interesting character, who sees dead people. At first, it felt like I was reading a mystery novel. Then, the action started and I knew it was a horror story. Strange, I like the character Odd Thomas, but dislike most of the other characters in the book. Why is Elvis in this book? Anyway, I was so engrossed in the novel that I literally lost track of time. I am so glad it kept my attention. I hope book #2 is ju ...more
