What Members Thought
I’m deeply enamored with David Mitchell’s genius. While Utopia Avenue might not be my favorite Mitchell (I am torn between The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet and Cloud Atlas), I thoroughly enjoyed it. I may have been charmed by Taylor Jenkins Reid’s Daisy Jones & The Six, but Utopia Avenue impressed me -- it is a marvel in its own right.
I enjoyed the impression that the author was having fun while writing this book, the cameos are a bit forced but also entertaining.

what a blistering read - sex drugs and rock and roll I might have expected but family , love, loss grief and despair all feature in this. A tale of epic proportions with great characterisation.
