Wyrd Sisters has been my favorite Discworld novel thus far. It parodies Shakespeare, including elements of many of his plays and his life. Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, and Magrat Garlick are witches in the kingdom of Lancre. One evening the King of Lancre is murdered by the evil duke and his vicious wife. This book was the perfect Terry Pratchett - a fun, funny, light fantasy. Yet amidst the humor, the word play, and the quirky characters, he always manages to say something meaningful about huge things like life and death.
One note - make sure you have read or at least know the basics of Macbeth before you read this.

A great Discworld novel, it features the witches Nanny Ogg, Granny Weatherwax and Magrat, three of my favorite characters. It draws highly from Shakespeare's Macbeth, although has lots humour and a unique twists.
