I understand this is a funny version of vampires, but (now maybe it is because I am not a shoe hound) it didn't do much for me. It had some really funny parts that had me literally laughing out loud (got a few strange looks), but for the most part I found Betsy materialistic (obviously), distractable (self proclaimed) and sort of "Valley-girl" meets "Sex in the City" stupid (for the lack of words to describe). Overall this book has some funny moments but mostly I hated it. I loathed all the main characters. Betsy was so incredibly shallow and childish is was painful to read. I wanted to keep yelling at her to grow up. This is not how a thirty year old should behave. And FYI a little hard truth for her she’s really no better than the Ant. The Ant was bought by jewelry… Betsy was bought by Designer shoes (seriously what kind of person needs to be bribed into doing the right thing by shoes?) Speaking of ...more

***Possible Spoilers***Well, this was pretty much what I expected. At times cheesy, trying to be a little to "cool" for it's own good. But it defintely had some funny moments and even though I don't exactly LIKE Betsy as a person, I think the books could get better if she grew some as a character. This book is like a guilty pleasure, I'm not sure I should get so much entertainment out of a book about a shallow, shoe-loving vampire.
