What a great start to a series. Loved the early byplay between Eve and Roarke. It was weird not see Peabody but she's not been introduced yet. Neither had McNab. Really, Eve's life was so different. With Mavis being her only real friend. It's amazing to go back and read this book now to realize just how far the series and the characters have come.

In 2003 when I began working at Walden Books (which has since become a borders express) I never thought I would read a Nora Roberts book. I fought it hard, because I didn’t believe that she could write so quickly and still turn out quality books. Then the Circle trilogy came out. I bought them, read them, loved them, and I have not stopped reading her books since.

A criminal mystery set in the mid 21st century. Technology has moved on with pace, detectives record their every move. A series of killings of licenced prostitute taxes the detective skills of Eve Dallas and all clues seem to lead to Rourke. Eve become personally involved with Rourke putting her career at risk as she tries to both solve the murders and exonerate rourke.
