I found Emma to be a very entertaining read due to all the colourful characters in the story. I enjoyed the book a great deal. As with any Classic novel, I found it to be a very quick read once you get used to the language. :0) Jane Austen is a wonderful story teller and really has a gift for sucking you into her world. I always feel like I know all her characters personally.

Emma, like most of us, is a character who tries her best, but often comes undone due to her own vanity, or miscommunication. This is a lovely story about love, and the troubles it brings, with the main character being likeable and realistic, even so long after it was written.

It's strange that the very thing I find irritating in modern novels is something that brings me enjoyment when done by Jane Austen. So much dialogue! Her characters make it worthwhile. I adore Miss Bates and Mrs. Elton. Lucky is Emma to live with such colorful people around her.
