Last year, one of the best things that ever happened to me reading-wise was when I read all of Rainbow Rowell’s books. I truly, immensely loved Attachments (because, Lincoln!) and then I read Fangirl during the later part of the year, and even though I didn’t like it as much as I liked Attachments, I was impressed by Rainbow Rowell’s writing style. I read this book all in one day, one snowy Sunday. This book took me straight back to being a teenager -- all of the insecurities about boys and my body and boysandmybody, the hell of gym class, the inability to help friends whose homes made gym class look like heaven, and all of the incredible magic and heartbreak of first love. If your first love happened among mix tapes, shared Walkman headphones, and smudged guyliner, this book will be even more powerful for you. Hilarious, smart, real, hear
