What Members Thought

Reading this is how life can sometimes feel, where you don’t think much of anything will happen. 120 pages in and you’re wondering why you’re reading about two people so much in their heads, sad and dissatisfied with life, and thinking you should give up and move on. And then Kakuro Ozu turns up and everything brightens and life feels worth living again. By the end, you’re happy you waded through the first torturous 120 pages to have your faith in life and fiction restored.

I have two friends who's advice I respect. One of them hated this book and the other loved it. Hmmm. Quandary. So I picked it up and put it down several times until, about halfway through, it grabbed me. I loved this book.
