What Members Thought
This tale of social change and interpersonal drama in Midville USA before & after the turn of the 20th century was a quick read and a mildly enjoyable one. But several of the main characters were just two-dimensional, and rather unpleasant, annoying dimensions at that. It kept me reading, as one can't remove one's eyes from an incipient train wreck, but I don't understand why Tarkington tacked a bit of supernatural fluff on at the end.
