You can't discount the talent of a writer who can take something like this on and make it work. Multiple characters, different points of view, all of it connected. I think some of the disappointing reviews are from people who started this novel thinking it was one thing, and didn't realize it's about something else entirely. I have lots of quibbles with this book (filled with cliches and anachronisms), but in the end I found it very entertaining. I listened to the book and enjoyed the narrators, with the exception of the sole female reader. Couldn't stand the character of Sally (whine, whine, whine) and felt she served no purposed in the story. SPOILER. Thought the ending was too harsh, given the carefree tone of the rest of the book.
