I mainly read this because I wanted to see the movie adaptation and I always like to read the book first. I had, of course, heard of Agatha Christie and Hercule Poirot before. But I was never very interested in reading any of her books because I'm simply not a huge fan of straight up murder mysteries. I generally like romantic suspense. But I was intrigued by the trailer and I thought I'd give the book a shot. And I honestly found this book to be pretty middling. It moved too slowly for me and I

I read this in a day. a Page turner, great distraction on this cold corona virus day. It kept me from snapping at my husband. Even though he was sweet, didn't share any of the news he was reading. The littlest things annoyed me, and I found my shoulders tense, my head aching. I gave it four stars for its ability to complete distract me. I thought I better read this book in preparation for the new film in November 2017. I love just about all things Christie, especitally if they are Hercule Poirot, Christie. This is one of her best, even the movie was good. I loved the fact that she put everyone on a train and than had a murder, and what a murder it was. I'll say no more you guys just need to read this one.

One of Christie's classics, and deservedly so - the twists and turns give that great jigsaw effect that typifies the golden age of English mystery perfectly. A must-read for any crime-novel fan that wants to see what all post-Agatha writers have been holding themselves up to.

LOVED the ending. I gave it four stars only because it annoys me when a book contains French, which I don't speak. Maybe people when it was written would have been more familiar with the language.
