I recently read this book for (at least!) the second time for a Goodreads group. Having seen at least two filmed versions of the book took away any suspense in the read and made it difficult to judge the quality of the book.
But it was a thoroughly fun read, even though a good bit of the fun came from noting the scaffolding as Christie was building it. And I have always enjoyed spending time with M. Hercule Poirot, the world's greatest detective.

It's interesting reading a murder mystery when you know the ending, but that didn't spoil this book for me. I've never been one to keep clues in mind, so trying to figure out everybody's alibi wasn't important to me, though if that kind of plotting matters to you, then Christie has you covered. I read the book because I wanted to know how a master of the craft sets up a murder and has an expert detective solve it. I read this in a day. a Page turner, great distraction on this cold corona virus day. It kept me from snapping at my husband. Even though he was sweet, didn't share any of the news he was reading. The littlest things annoyed me, and I found my shoulders tense, my head aching. I gave it four stars for its ability to complete distract me. Lots of confusing details, but a very entertaining and amazing story.
Amazing. I enjoyed this so much. And the audiobook version is outstanding--a pleasure to listen to. I can't read anything but Christie for the next few weeks...
