Debut novembre. Il est neuf heures. Les mesanges viennent se coigner la fenetre. Un peu assommees, il leur arrive de reprendre leur vol, mais parfois elles tombent et se debattent un moment dans la neige fraiche avant de retrouver l'usage de leurs ailes. Shelves: nyt-recommended
The book had me almost right away. It was beautifully written. A story about an old man who decided to leave his life behind to seek solitude at a cabin (I think in Norway). His childhood memories came rushing back... unresolved mystery with his father's abandonment, his best friend's family, etc.

The story was sad... and I feel like the main character, the old man, Trond, is so lonely. I didn't get to witness relationship building with his father, but I did get a sense how much being approved by
