I was told by an acquaintance of mine that this was her favorite book. As she was an English major in college I gave her recommendation the highest respect. The storyline was good, the writing was well done, but I felt frustrated at how almost everyone in the book took advantage of the main character Margaret. Maybe it has to do with the cultural views of women in Victorian literature. I liked it but did not love it.
