Yet another book from my youth that I have revisited. I found it even more enchanting than long ago, with Ethan Allen Hawley's whimsy, his wife Mary's tolerance and strength, and the richness of the dull little town. There's even a bit of magic, or mysticism, as well as conflict, love, and nobility.
