This is a book about the story of a daughter and her mother. It seems to be a dejà vu book or I may be wrong about it.

In this quick read, Lucy Barton tells the story of her life. Kind of. She hints at the depth of abuse and poverty she experienced as a child--hunger, cold, neglect, and perhaps more. Bullying at school--and she strongly remembers the one teacher who would not tolerate it.

And she got away. And had a rather normal life, with kids, marriage, divorce, plenty of money, a successful career.

And then the book ends. It was all just a little too vague for me--I was expecting some kind of big reveal or sh
