What Members Thought

This beautifully written book gripped my attention and, with its short chapters, lured me into multiple late-night reading sessions; completing the last page left me with a sense of loss.

Torn between three and four stars for this book. It was very interesting and suspenseful, and I enjoyed reading it. I'm not sure it deserved the Pulitzer and I'm pretty sure it's not destined for greatness (but maybe I'm a tougher critic than most on this score), but it's a fun contemporary novel about WWII that blends a variety of stories, characters, and narratives together.
