What Members Thought
This beautifully written book gripped my attention and, with its short chapters, lured me into multiple late-night reading sessions; completing the last page left me with a sense of loss.

I read many books every year but few great ones. This is a great book full of great people living through very difficult times in brave ways. When I read of Nazis I think of Americans who follow politicians like cult members. We are living through scary times, also.
Torn between three and four stars for this book. It was very interesting and suspenseful, and I enjoyed reading it. I'm not sure it deserved the Pulitzer and I'm pretty sure it's not destined for greatness (but maybe I'm a tougher critic than most on this score), but it's a fun contemporary novel about WWII that blends a variety of stories, characters, and narratives together.
