I'll probably add more to this review later. This book is still making me lose sleep days after finishing it, and I need a bit more time to process.
For now: five stars, no question. I love books about books, and this one makes me want to hop on the next flight to Barcelona.

Wow - what a story! It had a slow start for me, but I'm glad I stuck through to the end.

The story was about a 10-yr-old boy named Daniel Sempere. Because he was still having a hard time dealing with his mom's death, his dad took him to a place called the Cemetery of Forgotten Books. One of the best books I have ever read and I can't wait for his new book to get to the US!!! Such a wonderful story told with so many layers it draws you in and feel a part of the story and unable to put it down. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good historical novel or just a good story where it feels so real you want to be a part of it...it makes you wish you could write something this wonderful and allow the world to share one voice and one story - it has been published in almost e ...more

What a great read. Terrific. Fun, fun, fun. Heroes, heroines, unspeakable evil, war, lust, romance, great wealth, horrifying poverty, stupidity, books, pens, priests, friends, a gorgeous backdrop (Barcelona and Paris). What more could a literate soul want in a novel. Bravo and encore.

One of the greatest books I ever head. I loved it fully. And I just complain about the ending, cause I don't exactly like to know what happened to the characters years later... I'd rather imagine it. ...more

I absolutely loved this book. It is completely enthralling. It captured me from the very first page, and especially as it takes place in Barcelona. (Una ciudad que me encanta.)
