What Members Thought
I read this book a couple of years ago and never completed a review of it until now (I know, what was I thinking?).
Let me start off by saying that this was the first book by Zafon that I had read. But something about the first few pages I read set the tone...I was absolutely enamored. How can you not be with things like this written.....

This book houses quite a few gems, not the least of them being Fermin.
When this came out I tried to read it. I just couldn't. It didn't grab me at all. Fast forward several years. This time I did get sucked into its world. Ultimately though, just couldn't believe in it or like the characters. Obviously a minority opinion, but there it is.

I LOVED this book! It made me slow down and savor every word. I was sad to see the story end. I can't wait to read more from Mr. Zafon!

The translation was incredible. The story was mysteriously fabuleous. Maybe because it all started with a book and the characters grew from there, this read will be one I remember for a long time.
