While I was reading Surviving Raine, I kinda felt like I was watching Survivorman at times and the Blue Lagoon at other points. It's always great when you can learn something new while reading and have "fanning self" moments at the same time.
So, I fell in love with Bastian!!
He was great! The perfect tortured alpha male that I crave in my books.

I thought the overall story was very good, very engaging. My only complaint is that some parts really dragged and became repetitive. Hence, the loss of a star. But don't get me wrong, I recommend picking it up.

This book was really different. I don't think I was expecting Bastian to be SUCH an ass. I mean he was bad.. Really really bad. If we were not given tid bits as to what his issues was, I don't know that I could have finished the book. We have bad boy attitude and then we have complete and total psycho price and Bastian was borderline both.

This book was so freakin' good!!
This story is not just about survivial, but also about a severely broken man who quite literally hates himself. He has been abused, unloved and used in every possible fashion in his life and was quite literally drowning himself in women and booze. He was that is, until the day that his luxury cruise boat capsized and he saves one lone passenger on his least favorable life boat.
