On this episode of Experiment in Terror, Dex and Perry are called to Red Fox, New Mexico to investigate a report of a haunted ranch. Not only haunted, but bombarded with night time rock hailstorms and overrun with wild animal sightings...inside the house.
Believed to be the work of something called a skinwalker, the entity feels evil to Perry. Skinwalkers are said to be violent and malevolent beings, a legend of many Native American tribes. These are not nice creatures.

“I hope you never stop feeling alive.”
I could have sworn his heart skipped a few beats. He tensed. Then relaxed.
“As long as you’re around,” he said softly, “I’ll be alive.”
Woohoo....off to the next adventure with Dex and Perry!

“Do you think you’re special, Perry?” he asked seriously.
I winced. “A little bit. Maybe more in the Special Olympics kind of way.”
Perry and Dex travel down to Red Fox to investigate a possible poltergeist - but things are not what they seem in the native town. Although strange occurrences have plagued the Lancaster family for awhile - once Perry and Dex arrive things being to escalate. This Experiment in Terror is not limited to rock showers, animals awry, a sweat ceremony, and a ginger from Dex ...more

Did I enjoy this book?
Well the short answer is "yes" and the long answer is "hell yes!" Even though I didn't enjoy is as much as I did book one it was still an entertaining read. So far the books have not been too scary, just very, very creepy. I've heard that with book three this will eventually change, so I'm bracing myself.
Once again we have Dex and Perry, whom I still adore, up to their usual ghost hunting shenanigans which lands them in quite a bit of tro ...more

3.5 Stars!
Okay, so I definitely enjoyed this book much more than the first in the series.
* Perry made me laugh and I loved seeing her slow developing friendship with Dex.
* Dex is a complex fellow, that's for sure. But I warmed up to him so much more in this book. He was sweet, funny, tender and still a little crazy.
* The storyline got a little too complicated for me at times, but it was so clever too.
* I didn't really like where the story ended. (view spoiler) ...more
