This book showed so much promise. I admired the hell out of Kacey for taking her sister Livie away from the disaster of a home life they were living. After the car wreck that killed nearly everyone important to Kacey, her religious fanatic aunt and her pervy uncle take the sisters in. When the girls finally take off, they move far away, to the sunny beaches of Florida to start a new life.

This is apparently my favorite kind of love story. One that shows the power of love as a light that can bring you back from the darkness, and that can allow for forgiveness and redemption.

When I eventually get onto a really bad book its going to hurt me more than it usually does because at the moment those infamous book gods have been wonderful for me. I am on some kind of streak because this is the fourth book I have read in a row that has achieved 5 stars and made it to my favourites list. Kacey Cleary knows tragedy. Her life as she knew it died four years ago in a drunk driving accident that killed her parents, best friend and boyfriend. After her new legal guardians, her aunt and uncle fail her for the last time Kacey is determined to find a better life for her and her sister Livvie and moves to Miami to start a new life. There she meets Trent, her new sexy neighbour who has the ability to see past her cold hearted defences and to make her feel more alive and happy than she has felt in five years. Now she must wonder if this happiness is forever, or if the pasts they both refuse to talk about are enough to tear them apart.

I got through about 75% of this with it sitting somewhere from 3.5-4 stars. It was a lovely story but it didn't have that one thing to finally push it past that mark. Boy was a wrong. That one big thing smacked me in the face to the point where I yelled out in a room full of my boyfriend's family 'what the fuck!!?". K.A. Tucker is a genius because I never saw that coming!

This is a story about love, hope, redemption and ultimately forgiveness. It proves that life isn't always black and white, that there are two sides to every tragic story and that all it takes is a little perspective, some time spent in someone elses shoes to ultimately realise that forgiveness is alot more productive than hate. That hate is an emotion that only has the ability to destroy while "forgiveness sets you free."

"I could lay here and stare at him forever. I don't want to let go. Ever."
