Even though my eyes were still puffy and my nose was still red after Slammed I leapt straight into this book because I wanted to spend more time with Will and Lake.

From reading the synopsis I thought this book wasn't going to be as emotional as the first one and assumed it would have some angst over the person from Will's past, but not contain the level feeling as the first book.

Well, how wrong I was!!! OMG this book every bit as, if not even more emotional than the first one.

5 BIG BEAUTIFUL STARS...is just NOT enough!!!

I completely and wholeheartedly fell in love with this book. It is simply amazing.

What did I love about the book?

1. The Kids - OMG those are some freakin hilarious kids! I had tears in my eyes from laughing at all the mischief Caulder, Kel and Kiersten (my new best friend) got into. I butterflying loved this book!!!!! It's YA without the high school drama. Although Lake and Will are forced into the very adult situations of raising half grown kids, they are mature enough to handle it. Their personalities meshed well, and boy, did these two roll with the punches!

I’m exhausted. I read both of the Slammed series books in 24 hours…no sleep, no cooking, no cleaning, and lots of hairy eyeballs from my family but I just couldn't put them down. When I first started reading the reviews on Point of Retreat I kept asking myself; what the heck are these people talking about with the all that "butterflyingly" crap? Ok, I get it now... But I'm not telling:)

I really loved this book but not quite as much as the first.
In my review of Slammed one of the things that I loved about it was it didn’t have the huge amount of standard drama, e.g. betrayal and misunderstandings that is ever present in romance novels. The reason why I didn’t like this book as much was that it did have that stuff in this one. It left me feeling confused because although I loved hearing from Will’s POV I kind of missed Layken, and I thought it would have been nice to 4.5 Stars

The reason why I didn’t like this book as much was that it did have that stuff in this one. It left me feeling confused because although I loved hearing from Will’s POV I kind of missed Layken, and I thought it would have been nice to understand her point of view, e.g. her insecurities at about 50% there when she was definitely overthinking things.

However this book just made me love Will even more. From his POV we are able to see that his feelings for Layken are unfaltering. When the synopsis mentioned an ex-girlfriend I thought we were in for some confusion on the Will front, that he would be conflicted, confused, or accidently make a mistake. While Vaughn is a source of tension in this book it was more along the lines of misunderstanding and Layken’s insecurities. Seeing Will’s pain over this from his POV almost made me want to reach through my kindle and shake Layken back into her senses. But I guess if I had done that we might never have gotten to see Will’s slam.

Will’s slam ‘Because of You’ is definitely in my top five moments in any book, ever. I was bawling my eyes out with emotions because it was so damn butterflying beautiful. If anything you need to read this book just for that one moment. That poem alone almost was enough to push this book back up for five stars for me but alas it was not going to happen.

There is something that happens shortly after that point in the book that didn’t sit too well with me. I just felt like it was unnecessary drama. Like let’s be realistic here no one person can be that unlucky. It felt like it was only put in their as a plot device to flesh the book out and provide some angst to keep us readers entertained. It just felt like it didn’t belong there at all and it kind of dampened my experience of this book.

Secondly the end of the book where it just floats off without giving us any more details kind of felt like an anti-climax for me. I’ve probably just read too much erotic romance lately but I almost felt it was too clean. I didn’t need the full description but perhaps a little more would have been nice. But I guess I have to get used to the lack of detail when it comes to a lot of new adult books.

I don’t really know how the author is going to flesh this out into a third book and I am just hoping it doesn’t distract from these two beautiful books and their beautiful stories.

OMG I butterflying love this book and the characters.I and Love and This book!!!!!!

I didn't care for Reece and Vaughn (even though they have cool names). I absolutely loved Kiersten and her mom. Eddie and Gavin, Kel and Caulder, and especially Will and Lake. Everyone has such cool names now that I love it at.

This book broke my heart put it back together and took me on an emotional roller coaster but it was worth it. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I can't express at all how ...more

Butterflying A-MAZ-ING!!! I loved it. Colleen Hoover now ranks up there with my favorite authors. She has a way of writing lovable and complex characters and incredibly emotional stories without all the excruciating detail and flowery language that many authors have used lately. My “suck” is that I finished “Point of Retreat.” But my “sweet” is that it was every bit as good as “Slammed.” If you've read these two books, you'll understand perfectly. If you haven't, why not?

Holy “butterflying” moly! Just when you think happiness might be just around the corner for Will and Lake, another of life’s interruptions hits them in the face. This is one “hold on to your seat and keep breathing in and out” story as you reach for the happily ever after alongside Lake and Will.
