Okay, I am going to try and keep this review nice and short because I don't want it to turn into me just ranting about the things I didn't like.

The writing was wonderful, as usual with Samantha Young.

I really liked On Dublin Street, and have enjoyed other books by this author too. So I think I was expecting Down London Road to blow me away, but I was sadly disappointed.

Gitte: I absolutely love this Author and couldn’t wait to get stuck into ‘Down London Road’ as I loved ‘On Dublin Street’. The sequel didn’t disappoint, yet again it was really well written and had me riveted through the majority of it, however, I didn’t love it as much as I did book #1. That being said it had everything that makes for a sexy, heart breaking, emotional, dramatic and addictive read.

Updated Audiobook Review....

This is the first time this has happened to me. I DNF'd a book and then turned around and finished it, with a 4 star rating to boot! Audiobooks can be a difficult medium. I always start out hesitant, not really liking the voices and eventually the narration grows on me. With Down London Road, I was very up and down with the character narrations. Samantha Young's 2nd novel is another heart-wrenching tale set in modern-day Scotland focusing on a tortured heroine and the bone-melting, sex-on-a-stick Scottish hottie who loves her. This is a 4-star read compared to On Dublin Street but in the big scheme of things it is definitely a 5! I

This book was just as good as On Dublin Street and that is one of my favorite books! I loved that even though this is Jo and Cam's story we still got to see a lot of my favorite characters Joss, Braden, Elodie, Clark, Ellie, and Hannah. Joss and Braden were as delightful as ever!

Oh my little alien baby, I love this book. Yeah, like really really love it.

Before I grab this book, I saw many bad reviews towards this book. I was quite afraid that this novel would turn out to be disappointing. I kept my expectation low though her previous works are very impressive. I love every bit of this story though some parts are quite predictable and some actions of main characters are stupid. In my opinion, this is so human.

I kept my expectation low though her previous works are very impressive. I love every bit of this story though some parts are quite predictable and some actions of main characters are stupid. In my opinion, this is so human.

Jo is not one of the most admirable person when I first met her in 'On Dublin Street'. One can stereotype her as 'Bimbo' easily. That must be intention of Samantha Young in the first place. The character you likely to hate. As Jo taking her leading role in 'Down London Road', she is not what everyone think she is. She is untired sister who live her life to protect her wee brother, Cole. Jo's childhood isn't perfect with her abusive dad and alcoholic mother. She does every possible way to find money for her family. Okay, this background is quite often repeated in many novel...isn't it? I don't have any problem with that. Jo was with Malcome, old and rich guy. She met 'Cam' who dated 'Becca' Malcome's ex. The sexual tention between Jo and Cam is very rich. Along the first half of the book, their sexual tension built every time they met. This is quite my favorite part. They fight with words but connect with this tension. Samantha likes to play with this with main characters and I think she does very well. I can feel the heat in the air while reading about this couple. I wanna scream many time. lol. Cam always judge Jo when he is angry. Gosh, that bad attitude appears a lot which makes him so real. Jo's surface might be very shallow and stupid bimbo who doesn't care about anything. Actually, she is sensitive one. She has problem with her insecurity in life all the time. This makes some of her behavior so childish and womanlike. She's also stubborn as hell. I think I would annoy with her behavior but I'm not. I must admit I don't admire the aspect of cheating along the first half but my love for this couple vanished those part away. Jo always remain me of real woman who can be stupidly sensitive most of the time. She is understandable. I think I get her more than Joss sometime. The rest of the book makes me laugh and cry like crazy. I don't wanna tell anything because I don't wanna spoil the entertaining part.

To get to the point, I think Samantha wants to make her characters real as possible. We are sometime stupid, sometime unreasonable. Jo and Cam are far from being perfect. Their bad behaviors are quite visible. These make them real and human. How they adapt to each others is the point. Some said the first half of the book is boring because no evident happen. Back to 'On Dublin Street', I think the first half is quite similar. They need to build sexual tension or impression(or not) first. This makes this book HOT and not to mention steamy scenes.

Joss and Braden are so adorable in this novel though Joss is changed to very bossy and nice Joss. I miss my anti-social Joss. lol Cole becomes one of my favorite character already, so caring and witty little brother.
