What Members Thought

For some reason, this made me laugh uncontrollably:
You are holding the spear that pierced Christ's side as he hung on the cross," he said.
I nearly dropped it. "This thing killed Jesus?" I exclaimed, dismayed.
This was my third attempt to finish this book (last June then September then now). It took me that much of time to build tolerance against Mac. It read a lot like a BtVS fanfiction but the world building does hold promise. I could almost feel the author bursting at the seams, wanting to tell ...more

I was hesitant to read this series because I strongly dislike faeries. I do not have the patience for their trickery, riddles and games. “Let’s cause some mischief just because we can” does not make sense to me. Thank goodness for all of the great reviews otherwise I would have dismissed this as another one of those kinds of Fae books. I have not seen much tomfoolery from the Fae yet and the world building has been very good. I like Moning’s writing style and her descriptions are gi ...more

5 STARS ALL THE WAY!
I was asked at the last minute to join a BR on this one and boy was I ever glad that I did! There was so many amazing characters in this book! The descriptive writing was amazing! So many people have commented how this was their favorite series and that I was lucky to get to meet Jericho Barrons for the first time. Well, let me just say this...I WI ...more

I feel lucky to be on such a roll with books right now. I've really enjoyed everything I've read this month, and that's awesome.
Anyway, this book is absolutely NO exception! I know that KMM is super-popular and has a huge following, so I really wasn't too worried when I cracked the proverbial spine on Darkfever. Plus, Urban Fantasy is quickly becoming my favorite genre.

I'm actually at a lack of words at this moment and may need to revise my review. I have heard awesome things about this series and I will truely stay the course, I just felt this book was a little boring, especially in the begining. I felt like I was sitting in a paranormal history class, lol and that I should get my notebook out and start taking notes and preparing for a fae hunter 101 quiz. The book did get better as I went on and there actually was a little action in the end.
