What Members Thought

After reading the prologue I almost didn't pick up this book. Sounded like I was going to need a notebook to keep up with the story. I pushed ahead and the author did a good job of feeding info in a way that it wasn't overwhelming learning about the world she was building. The author goes off on tangents too often in my opinion and there is so much descriptive detail that the story gets lost at times. She does a much better job in the second book which is where I am now and it is worth the read

About three things I was absolutely positive…
First, Darkfever was incredibly awesome beyond all my wildest expectations.
Second, there was a part of me – and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be – that had immediately caught the fever.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with Jericho Barrons.

The first book of the series has a very strong and painstakingly detailed beggining in all thing Fae. This did not bother me much (just had to motivate myself to memorize as much as possible and wait for the pop quiz on Fae). It's tedious but stick through it because the characters are multi layer and so mysterious that Book 1 doesn't even touch the surface.

Darkfever is a fantastic start to this series. KMM has created a world unlike any I have seen before and a protagonist (Mac) that is realistic and likeable. When I first began reading I felt that maybe I would not like this girl who seems spoiled and consumed with pink but quickly I was able to witness her strength and determination. Barrons is an H like no other. He is brutally honest, sarcastic and dismissive but he has Mac's back and it is clear that he will protect her. I like their interact

I LOVED THIS BOOK. I read the first 3 in two days. It's very different from what I would normaly like. This series keeps me guessing at every turn. I'm currently waiting for book 4 and 5 to come in the mail. I can't wait to read them. I highly recommend.
