ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SERIES ** At least 10 Stars .. more if possible!

01/2015 -- Re-reading the series in prep for the 01/20 release of her new book. I finished them all in about 7 days. Terrible when their blood, sweat and tears - years really can be devoured in such a short time. They are just that good. I want more of her. More of quality books like these. Stellar!

I really liked this book. This book is about Mac, a girl with blond hair that paints her nails pink. Just an average girl, until she goes to Dublin to make the police continue their invesitigation in her sister murder. Then she is introduced to the world of th Fea and her role in this world. I really like the fact that the story is so dark, the Fea aren't nice and beautiful creatures, they're evil and twisted. And greadually Mac begins to adapt to this world.

This book owned me ....I was going back and forth. To read or not to read....I'm so glad I did and I'm officially on this merry....well bumpy, gory, fantastical, mythological ride....full of witty banter, gripping emotion, seething frustration, dripping fright and yeah amazingly described characters.
I love the snarky back and forth that goes on between Barrons and Mac.....Mac is a very fun and confident character and am glad she sheds her barbie front and get her act together instead of grieving ...more

Rating Clarification 2.5 for first half, 3 for second half

I am not sure if I will review this or not as I have bitched, whined, moaned and complained about this book the entire time I have read it. So many of my Goodreads friends love this book and I don't quite understand why however I TRUST YOU ALL. In saying this I will read the next book in the hopes the series gets better. I have been told it does so I plan to see for myself beginning tonight.

So, where do I start. It took me some pages to get into the book, especially since I'm not a fan of first person narration. Once I got into it though, it became highly addictive and I can't wait to read the second book.
The MC, Mac, is an unusual character, she makes the transformation from Southern Barbie girl to a tough fighter, without losing her personality and likings. She still likes her clothes and nail polish, without being vain.
