I'll be completely honest, I was pretty skeptical going into this, even though the series came highly recommended by quite a few avid readers, I still had my doubts this genre was for me.

Good thing I have no issues whatsoever admitting I was wrong!

I enjoyed this [first] book immensely! The story is like a vortex that sucks you in and you find youself saying "just one more chapter" at 3am when you should have gone to sleep hours ago. The writing is phenomenal and I really enjoyed the characters a ...more

Loved it!

Why did I wait so long to start this series? That's what I kept asking myself all throughout the book.

This book was a great intro to a very fantastical and interesting world. I mean, come on a character like V'lane lol.

I got into the story right from the start and had a hard time putting the book down. The last few chapters were definitely the best. I was biting my nails.

Wow - could NOT put it down. Different, lots of information to soak up, but not overwhelming. So often fantasy books take it too far, with the first half of the book setting the story & confusing us with too many details to keep track of - not this one. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of following the story. Can't wait to read more! ...more
