Rounded up to four stars because I am going to look for more by the author. But I'm hoping the next is more, ah, coherent... more focused. This was a bit too light at times, and a bit too serious at times, and a lot of questions were answered, but a lot were raised and not answered.

I do like the names, that generally are neat vocabulary words. Esp. the Red Fairies: Glyph, Rune, and Trompe.

The blurb about the 'opinionated' frog bewilders me... the frog expresses no opinions.
