I love the cover of this book, I am after all a sucker for red shoes. It is a very look at me, pick me up and read me cover. Well atleast that's what it says to me.
So I picked it up and read it, well first I had to request it to be sent from another library as mine had "lost" it's copy. Meaning someone enjoyed the book and didn't want to share it.
On to the book itself.

Good Points:
I loved this book and I can't believe its taken me this long to pick this book up! Cinder is one of those characters that you just cant wait to read on about and discover more of her story, also she isn't one of those constantly crying girls (if you can really even call her that ... Cyborg-girl?) because quite literally she can't cry as she has no tear ducts.
I thought Cinder had a great plot although at times could be a little predictable but makes up for this with its nail biting s ...more

Cinder was an amazing retelling of Cinderella, but it was also way more than just a retelling.
Cinder is a strong character that I really admired. I actually wish I was as strong as her. She loves her stepsister Peony who is her only human friend and her robot friend IKO. She didn’t have an easy life what with most of her family hating her and being a pariah because of the fact that she is a cyborg, but she was still hopeful about her future and was a true friend to those she was close too.

Review from A Journey Through Pages
I read a lot of fairytale adaptations (it's one of my favourite things to read in YA, obviously from the amount of them I review), but out of all I've read so far, Cinders is hands down the most original and unique, standing out from the rest by a mile. It is a scifi rendition of the tale, not a Dystopian Scifi, but pure, beautiful Scifi. It is the future and when someone faces a very gruesome injury they can have their lives saved by fixing themselves up with ...more

Long story short, I like it enough to continue the series (which does end on a cliffhanger -- cue eyeroll).
I wasn't very invested in the Lunar world building aspect of it and found the story about Cinder and her family and Kai more interesting than the rest of it, but the plot comes from the Lunar side of things so I think that detracted my enjoyment of it. There's really nothing I can say in this review that isn't summed up by the GIFS in the review list. LOL! I loved the book. I love fairy tales and Marissa Meyer did wonderful justice adding new elements to an already wonderful story. I truly can't wait to read the next one!
