so ive read another book by this author that i definitely preferred. this book was okay. it was a little slow at times and not exactly thrilling considering it was a thriller, but it was not terrible either. i felt like it tried too hard to be too creepy and was a little disappointed by the unrealisticness of some of the interactions of the main characters. i will admit i didnt expect some of it to go the way it did, though, so at least it wasnt too predictable.

the premise of the final girls/ so so ive read another book by this author that i definitely preferred. this book was okay. it was a little slow at times and not exactly thrilling considering it was a thriller, but it was not terrible either. i felt like it tried too hard to be too creepy and was a little disappointed by the unrealisticness of some of the interactions of the main characters. i will admit i didnt expect some of it to go the way it did, though, so at least it wasnt too predictable.

the premise of the final girls/ sole survivors storylines were all interesting. each of the three ladies involved had nothing in common aside from that, but they seemed to bond because of it. the main character, quincy, is the only survivor of a horrific cabin in the woods massacre, and she has somehow managed to make a life for herself and was doing just fine (i guess thanks to xanax and grape soda?) until lisa, one of the other two survivors, is killed and the third, sam, shows up at quincy's home. i understand why they bonded, but i am not sure i would have been so trusting and just welcomed her into my home before knowing much about her. i get that is partially why it probably made most readers suspicious of sam, and the way she kept pushing quincy out of her comfort zone by doing things to try to get her to remember. i found it interesting how sam was linked to the cabin in the woods massacre in a totally unrelated way from how i expected, and i get why she wanted quincy to remember all of the stuff she claimed to repress. i wonder if she really and truly didnt remember what happened or just tried not to. it is terrible that she blamed someone else for what happened for so many years. i realize now the real truth should have been more obvious to me and also to quincy because there were signs. i realized the WHY part but didnt honestly think the two were linked together in the aspect that they were, and though it is a lil too late to take back certain things that happened, what bothered me is just like she is quick to trust complete strangers, which i found unrealistic, i also found it weird that quincy just made assumptions and i feel like she should have been able to piece together things a lil better bu tat least eventually she finally recalls all of the sorrid details and justice came about when the real truth is revealed. ...more
