What it's about: Shane is a 12-year-old boy who happened to be born in a girl's body. He struggles to keep his secret, and with whether or not he should be secretive in the first place. At the same time, he is striving to get his father (and Dad's new girlfriend) to understand him.
My thoughts: The topic of trans-gender children is handled with aplomb and sensitivity. It is easily clear, as you get to know Shane through this book, that he is a boy, regardless of what biology has to say about it. ...more
