I was first hesitant to read this book, but am really glad that I was able to. It looked interesting to. It was like a combination of The Hunger Games and Beautiful Creatures. Teresa and Thomas was able to talk to each other in their minds and Thomas and the rest of the Gladers had to find their way out of the maze and was being controlled by the creators. I found this to be a very good start,but it left me wondering. Did the creators have the farm, gardens etc. already there and did the boys come with memories of how to run them. Overall I liked the story.

Shelves: own, on-shelf, unread
a decent start to the trilogy, filled with enough excitement and mystery to have you flying through the pages to find out what comes next. while there is an interesting cast of characters the sheer number of them made it impossible for even the main character to keep them all straight. as action-packed and intriguing as this is a dystopian the one let down was the lack of logic behind the "government figures" decisions. although weather this is by flaw or design i do not yet know as unlike most ...more
