Yudkowsky aspired to write the novel in world history with the smartest characters and to let the readers observe the mental habits of a genius from the inside. Really that's it - read his booklet Hero Licensing. Everyone I've discussed this book with agrees Yudkowsky succeeded. Experiencing a more intelligent mind through a novel is a unique experience. This is the only book where you get that.

It's really interesting. So interesting it was hard to find time to work so bad I wanted to finish it. Bad thing about that was longer that original 7 books of HP, so it was tough week :)

One of THE BEST books I've read in my life. Although it lacks the world-creation element, being the fundamental part of most sci-fi books, the characters, situations and writing style totally makes up for it.
