Initially I had slight reservations about how much I’d enjoy The Wonder; it was kind of a slow start, the Irish bashing made me uncomfortable (guilt of the English no doubt) and Lib seemed self-satisfied and superior. As the chapters went by however, the book drew me in and although there were inevitabilities in the plot, especially where relationships were concerned, the fate of Anna was never obvious and as such I kept eagerly turning the pages.
