I enjoy this story. It's not at all something I thought I would because it's not the usual type of story I read (typically I don't go for slave stories and I also don't gravitate to stories that don't have much emotion written into the narrative)-- but I grew intrigued as I read and along the way I found I really wanted to know what would happen. *shrug. It's not bad. It's actually a quite intelligent approach to the whole slave thing, although the profusion of extraneous commas was quite irritating at the best of times.
Anyways, I've been recently making a more active attempt to be more descriptive rather than prescriptive about my approach to books. It's worked wonders on my perception of the relative quality of said books.
It feels rather short, for whatever reason.
