I can't wait for Obsidian. You know he'll be making up being in a coma with lots of matting with his HEA. I can't wait! Obsidian's cover is so hot!

I loved that Obsidian was so raw, and untamed. Unlike the other New Species he's had so much isolation even away from his own kind. He's had a mate that was killed and abused in front of him and he was also abused. So, wow. That was Obsidian...

This review will have A LOT of spoilers. Just warning you.

I have to say, Obsidian is one moody little demanding Species at the start. But I think I loved him as much as I loved Valiant [And that's saying something.]
He is very devoted to Alli since near the start though. Well, it's kind of obsession type love. Like how Valiant was with Tammie I did love some of the ways he reacts to her under-clothes:(view spoiler) So, wow. That was Obsidian...

I have to say, Obsidian is one moody little demanding Species at the start. But I think I loved him as much as I loved Valiant [And that's saying something.]
He is very devoted to Alli since near the start though. Well, it's kind of obsession type love. Like how Valiant was with Tammie I did love some of the ways he reacts to her under-clothes:(view spoiler)[
“What is it?” He turned it in his hands and studied the cups. “These cover your breasts, don’t they? The form is the same.” He stared at her chest.
“Yes. It’s a bra.”
He growled and threw it over his shoulder. It sailed through the air and hit the opposite wall across the room next to the door. “You won’t wear that.”
Her mouth dropped open. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me. There is no reason to restrain your body. It’s unnatural.”

He made a sound of displeasure when he discovered her pink panties.
“I don’t like these. They are in my way.” He glanced up. “Stop putting on needless clothing.”
“People wear them.”
“You won’t.” One hand flattened to hold her shirt up while he hooked the fingers of his other hand at the waist of her panties, just giving them one rough jerk. Material tore.
“Those were expensive.”
He didn’t look impressed as he tossed them behind him. She watched them land on the coffee table. “They aren’t made well.”
And, as usual, you can't get through the book without the Species breaking a bed.
The bent metal of the top bar of the headboard hung precariously over him. He’d broken it in his haste to cling to something to prevent him from bruising her instead with his hands.
“Alli’s mine forever,” he swore.
He does remind me so much of Valiant. Same kind of attitude in a way, I think. Probably why I adore him so much.
“You aren’t leaving me. You’re happy.”
She was stunned.
“I’ll kill any male who attempts to lure you away.”
Remind you of a certain wild male much? He even managed to scare Fury and Justice slightly.
So at the start, I was surprised at how short a time she spent with him unconscious before they were caught. He did wake you to save her, but I was kind of hoping that he would wake up and it would be just her and him alone. Although he does make up for that. ;) I was expecting longer though because of the excerpt we got to read a while ago, but it all turned out awesome in the end.
I'm glad we got to see Moon again. I've always really liked him after Slade, but there hadn't been much mention of him until now.
I also feel for Jericho. He reminds me so much of Ven. I am DYING to read both of their books now.
. “Let’s not fight. She’s safe from other male interest and I’ve long given up on finding a female of my own. I don’t even want one now.”
He didn’t quite believe him but his anger cooled. “Why?”
Jericho revealed the odd color of his eyes when they met his gaze. “I refuse to feel any more pain.”
Obsidian studied him and paused next to Alli when she gripped his arm to stop him from stalking closer to the other male. He didn’t spare her a glance, too focused on figuring out his opponent.
“It hurts being rejected.” Jericho’s voice deepened and strong emotion flashed in his eyes. “I don’t want them anymore. I’m over it. Your doctor is safe from me.
I was surprised at how much Destiny was taunting him about wanting Alli. I mean, I get he wanted her, but I can't believe he was so stupid as to have enraged Obsidian. No surprise, Obsidian almost killed him. He can be touchy when it comes to people trying to take away his Alli. Which of course, made the stupid shrink come up with the options that Alli could go elsewhere to work for a while so Obsidian can learn social skills or Obsidian might end up terminated. I can't believe what an utter jerk their shrink is. He may be the NSO shrink, but he clearly doesn't understand NS at all. The shrink is an asshole, I don't get why they don't just fire him. Who cares about PR, he is making everything worse.
When she comes back three months later Obsidian isn't as aggressive at everyone anymore [He's a pretty good actor at being a calm NS, while inside being a bit pissed off], but he's been dying to get her back.
“Do you know how often I ate French toast just to be reminded of you?”
I really liked how much he loved her. Both Valiant and him were more... aggressive in their relationships [In a sweet way of course], and I kind of love them more for it.
One nice thing was that Alli didn't get kidnapped. Why does the female always end up kidnapped in some way? It's nice to have a break from that. (hide spoiler)]
