I listened to this one. I admit that I tuned out much of the hubbub because, I think, it was a lot of detail that I could not follow, not being British, such as catching the subtleties of place or the subtleties of having lordship or ladyship or of knighthood or of being a doctor or of being a detective 🕵️♂️ or of being police 👮♂️. Excellent. It's uncommon for me to get halfway through a novel and find myself still being surprised by the lead character. Initially I started this book and felt the characters were superficial and put it down again. Now I believe that may have reflected my state of mind while reading it. Very absorbing, fast-paced, enjoyable mystery that is entertaining as well as intellectual.
