Note to Self: No more reading novels filled with pain, suffering and morbidity, for ummm, a while (???) --TBD!

After reading Recursion which opens with a suicide and then Jude the Obscure where sweet, overcaring Jude is pummeled by the vicissitudes of life and deliberately catches his death in the very English rain, I am of the opinion that Goodreads should perhaps offer online therapists to help readers return to their lives after shattering literary imm ...more

One of the most perfect books ever. If you can't fall for Jude Fawley you have a heart of stone.

I just can't seem to stop thinking about this guy, and find him all the time in other characters in other places.

I keep wondering how his life cold have been saved from all the tragedy he endured. Then I wonder if his life had been happier would I remember him as much? ...more
