The edition I read of this book had the journey of both Christian and Christine. Christine made the jouney with kids in tow why not have them make the journey together if they were just going to tell it twice?

I was trying to read this book, but it is not your normal piece of fiction or non fiction. This book reads more like the Bible. It is very dense, and you need to savor it in order to understand it. I will add it to my Bible time.
