Such a difficult book. Even though it is short, it is full of triggers and no one walks away feeling happy. I was lucky enough to get hold of a version that includes an author's preface, so I got to see Morrison's own words showing me how to process the story. (I skimmed before reading the novel, and then I re-read the preface closely after the novel finished, because I needed help.)

E' uno di quei libri che ha toccato in maniera talmente profonda alcune corde che non riesco ad articolare parole che possano descrivere le sensazioni senza essere riduttive.
A differenza di altri, ho amato anche la scrittura della Morrison che, almeno per me, ben si sposa con la durezza dei temi trattati: e a un mese di distanza dalla lettura, se ripenso ad alcune immagini, che ho vivide davanti agli occhi, mi sento mancare il fiato.

Read this for class. Well written, but too violent for my taste. Also found the constant switching of characters a little confusing.

Shelves: just-for-fun

Wasn’t what I thought it would be. My takeaway from this book was “just because you shared the same mother does not mean your brother needs to invite you to a party he’s having” opened my eyes a bit!
